A view of family members on a family member suffering intellectual disability

The bachelor thesis deals with the attitudes of family towards thein child who has been diagnosed with the intellectual disability (mental retardation). The theoretical part is focused on the explanation of the term mental retardation as well as on the discription of its different levels, and mental differences of people with mental retardation. In addition, the bachelor thesis focuses on a family, its definitiv, the segmentation of the family based on the function. Finally, it deals with a family of a child with mental retardation on which it descries the issues occurred after the birt. Futhermore, what the family has gone through during this period, what impacts it may have on the relationship of parents and how siblings react to that. The practical part provils insight into the approach and attitudes of members of two families with a child with mental retardation. The paper discovers opinions of the mother, the father and siblings on the member of the family with mental retardation, and it indicates the progress in terms of what factors have played a role in thein attitudes and how it differs among each other.
A child from a divorced family at a kindergarten

The theoretical part of the thesis concerns the concept of divorce and its effects on experiencing of the children as well as their parents.The theme of family will be introduced in broad context. It also lists options for the children to help them cope with the period of time during the divorce and how to handle potential behavior changes. Regarding the research, it's goal was to map the experiences and views of parents and their children on divorce. The practical part presents the result of a qualitative survey, which was conducted in the form of interviews in three families. In all of the families the divorce was requested by the mothers based on the lack of support from their partners. The mothers all tried to explain and sufficiently walk the children through the situation, but in spite of their efforts it's been difficult for all family members. In their testimonies, the children expressed some understanding for the parents' divorce. In one of the families there have been positive developments in the relationship with the father. In two families, the mother is in custody of the children, in one they're alternating.
Sibling Relationships of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder - Parental perspective

This bachelor thesis deals with the sibling relationships of children with autism spectrum disorder from the perspective of parents. The theoretical part defines the concept of autism spectrum disorders, its historical development, etiology and the main areas in which autism spectrum disorders manifest themselves. The following chapter deals with a family with a child with autism spectrum disorders and the main problems these families face. The third chapter first describes the characteristics of sibling relationships, sibling rivalry and sibling constellations, then the chapter deals with the specifics of the sibling relationship with a child with a disability and the impact of autism spectrum disorders on the sibling relationship. Last but not least, the possibilities of supporting healthy siblings are briefly outlined. The empirical part presents the research, which was carried out using a questionnaire survey. Research goals and questions, research methodology and characteristics of the research sample are presented. The results are first presented using descriptive data analysis, then correlation analysis, more specifically Spearman's correlation coefficient, was used to verify the established hypotheses. The bachelor thesis discusses how the biological children of foster parents accept their new foster siblings and fostering of their parents from the view of the foster parents. The aim of this work is to find out if and how the biological children accept their new foster siblings, what are their relationships like, what are the problematic aspects of these relationships and how to prevent them.

The thesis focuses on the period of individual adolescence. It presents definitions of adolescence as well as describes physical, psychical, and social changes relevant to the period. It also includes developmental and psychological theories concerning this period. The case study is focused on a family which experienced the puberty of their children. It examines the period within the context of family relationships. It then asks what puberty symptoms are characteristic and how puberty affected relationships among family members and relationships with the social environment.
The influence of elderly care for dependent senior to the relationsships among family members

This paper deals with the relationships between family members in a later stage of the family life-cycle, parents have lost their full self-sufficiency. Adult children support their parents, interaction is frequent and this situation often leads to relocation. The basic question of this study is how these circumstances affects a relations between family members and especially intergenerational relationships between adult children and their parents. The paper is mainly based on the concept of ambivalence and the model of intergenerational solidarity. The research conducted in Czech Republic is a further important background. Data from the research titled "Family Cohesion in the Elderly Care" are analyzed. This research is implemented under the guidance of Prof. PhDr.Hynek Jerabek, CSc. and has a qualitative and quantitative part. Author uses the concepts such as conflict, ambivalence and affectual solidarity to describe intergenerational relationships. The conclusion is that intergenerational relationships in families are characterized by a very strong emotional bond, although high degree of conflict and negative emotion also appeared.
Zootherapy influence on children with mental disabilities

This thesis focuses on the influence of animal-assisted therapy for children with mental disabilities. The theoretical part describes the different kinds of animal-assisted therapy, especially canistherapy which is of the most used with children with mental disabilities. Furthermore, the legal questions of practicing zootherapy and description of its origin is mentioned. The practical part describes methods by which research is conducted. The research work is focused on children with mental disabilities who attend day care centers, in which they participate in zootherapy. The interview was conducted with five families of these children and was focused on whether zootherapy treatment has a positive effect on children with mental disabilities and their families. The research was complemented by case studies.
Anorexia of a child and its impact on the family

This bachelor thesis concerns a situation of a family in which appeared mental illness anorexia. The work is divided into two main parts. The first part describes theoretical concepts of family psychology the proper functioning of family, characteristics of family system, social pathology phenomena. It also describes anorexia, its causes and symptoms. This part focuses on families with a disabled child, for comparison, whether the impact on the family are the same or different. The second part, through research, determines whether anorexia has a bad impact on the family, relationships and family functioning.
